MAGDALENA BURTAN
Dance | Art | Culture | Society
Magdalena is a dancer and a dance & somatic educator in training (ISMETA), with a diverse background in acting, singing, movement-based therapeutic approaches, somatics, and social sciences.
Her holistic perspective integrates various artistic and therapeutic disciplines into workshops and mentoring, where the individual is seen both for their unique gifts and as part of a greater whole.
She views art and dance as vessels for personal inquiry, meaning-making, healing, connection, and social change. Always a dancer at heart, Magdalena grew up in a home surrounded by academics and politicians. She initially pursued a career in international politics and communications before turning towards her greatest passion—expressing freedom through art.
She believes in the body’s power as a living organism and a source of intelligence, and that reconnecting with it is one of the most crucial undertakings to address the pervasive lack of meaning and larger social issues we are living through today.
She is currently focused on developing an art and educational platform, We Speak Body, with the aim of amplifying connections between dance, culture, society, and art.
